A woman inspired by a deep passion for flowers — always on the move, full of ideas and projects, and backed by years of professional expertise.
My journey into the world of flowers began in 1983.
I was a young girl in love with greenery and nature when I opened my floral design atelier, Fior di Verbena, in San Marino.
I immediately started attending courses and schools run by the most renowned Italian and international floral design masters.
Since then, I have been creating floral arrangements for weddings, ceremonies, and events throughout San Marino and across Italy.
Above all, Fior di Verbena has become a point of reference for flower and plant lovers who wish to give a gift that truly represents beauty, like a flower does. From a simple bouquet to a more refined arrangement, from party setups to birthday decorations, I offer each client the perfect answer to their desire for beauty. With harmony and originality, I find the right solution to decorate and enhance your home or office. I respond to the emotional need and sentiment behind the purchase of flowers. I create floral bouquets crafted from the highest quality and most innovative flower varieties.
My floral compositions and decorative styles — in other words, my signature — have been chosen by film and TV directors and set designers.
My name — or rather, my last name — is Verbena, a fitting and meaningful connection that has always accompanied me in everything I do in the infinite and wonderful world of flowers.

It all began in Aalsmeer, Netherlands, with a floral design course

Organized in San Marino the advanced specialization course on the Italian style of Floral Art in collaboration with the National Association of Plants and Flowers of Italy.
2015
Attended the *Luxury Wedding and Wedding Planner* course with American designer Karen Tran.
2016
Organized a seminar in Sanremo to study the new bouquet designs for the 2019 Sanremo Music Festival, involving leading teachers of Italian floral art.
2017/2018
Organized the *Bouquet Festival Sanremo* competition to select a new florist to join the team creating bouquets for the artists of the 2018/2019 Sanremo Music Festival.
2023
Organized the "International Floral Art Meeting" to celebrate 40 years of activity, with the participation of renowned instructors Leopoldo Gomez, Vincenzo Antonuccio, Antonio Trentini, Maria Cecilia Serafino, Giuseppe Picca, Alessandro Musco, and Giuseppe Contartese.

Biography
1987
Participated in the Marina in Fiore floral art competition.
1989
Participated in the regional selection of the Federfiori Coppa Italia for Emilia-Romagna, achieving second place.
1991-1994
Participated in the “Verucchio Chiese in Fiore” competition (3rd place)
and in the Interflora Window Display Competition (3rd place)
1992
At the Gino Giacomini Exhibition Space in San Marino, she created an art exhibit featuring paintings made with dried flowers, in collaboration with master Emilio Preziosi. The exhibition, titled "I Tarzan, You Jane – Instinctive Colors and Shapes," explored the expressive power of nature through floral composition.
1993
She patented the flower display and preservation system "Fior d’Acqua", which over the years has become the most appreciated solution among florists for showcasing and preserving cut flowers.

Renovate the shop and on the occasion create an exhibition of Bonsai by Red Canzian, famous singer of Phoo and lover of greenery

She guided Federico Fazzuoli at Miflor in 1994 during the "Verde Fazzuoli" program on TMC.
2007/2017
Organized “Florea” in San Marino for 10 editions — a plant and rare essence market exhibition that transformed the historic center of San Marino into a showcase of plants and flowers of every variety.
1990
Member of the committee for the Italian Grandparents’ Day and, in collaboration with Charles Landsdorp and the Dutch Flower Office, organized the first national competition for the celebration, which saw the participation of 1,000 flower shops across Italy.

Mara Verbena with Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi on the occasion of the "Italy Garden of Europe" award ceremony held at Antologia in Milan.

It was Mara Verbena, then a member of the board of directors of Interflora Italia, who had the idea of collecting Interflora orders via the 412 service via cell phone. This is how the agreement with TIM - Interflora was born.
